New Installation

Whether you're retrofitting an older home with no central HVAC system or if you're building a new home, correctly sizing the system to the size of your home during a new HVAC installation ensures the system will regulate temperatures properly for optimal comfort all year round.
A properly trained HVAC professional will be able to precisely measure the square footage of your home, either from a blueprint or by measuring all the rooms in the existing home, as well as consider other important factors like the number of occupants in the home, the number of windows and doors, the home's climate and orientation to the sun, and placement of the ductwork.
The process for determining the right size HVAC system to install in your home is a complicated one best left to the professionals at Smith Electric HVAC, Inc..

Heating and cooling systems have a way of breaking down when the weather is at its worst; on the coldest day of a frigid winter, or during a sizzling summer heat wave; times when your comfort system must work the hardest, and when you need it most.
Regular check-ups will help to maximize the life expectancy of your system; unfortunately, even the best maintenance won't prevent normal wear and tear.
Extended Warranties

Extended warranties allow customers another opportunity to manage their ongoing costs of operations. Since your heating and air conditioning system is used 24 hours a day, year round, it requires service as it operates.
Reasons why all equipment and labor should be covered by an extended warranty:
- Plan and project your costs while protecting against increases in parts or labor.
- Factory warranties usually expire prior to the end of the equipment′s life cycle.
- Extended warranties can cover the bill for all costs, including labor, during the insured period.
- Peace of mind knowing your equipment is covered.
Ask one of our specialists to explain the extended warranties available for your new or existing equipment.

In-house fabrication ensures a higher level of quality and faster installation.
Air Duct Cleaning

Why should I have my air ducts cleaned?
- Air ducts naturally accumulate sizeable deposits of dust and other contaminants over a period of years.
- Dirt deposits can reduce the efficiency of your heating and air conditioning system and even cause physical discomfort and illness by degrading the quality of air you breathe indoors.
- Dirt deposits in your air ducts actually act as food for organisms such as dust mites.
Contaminants build up inside the return ductwork. Traditional heating and cooling systems recirculate the air in a home via supply air ducts and return air ducts. Many homes have inefficient filters, which trap less than 10 percent of the particulate that is circulated in the system. If not trapped by the systems air filter, the particulate accumulates in the duct work and on the internal components of your furnace or fan coil.
Duct Cleaning Benefits
Cleaning your duct work eliminates these contaminates with the following benefits:
- Safeguard your health by eliminating potential causes of allergies and respiratory problems.
- Eliminate the dirt that acts as food for dust mites, bacteria, mold and other micro organisms.
What type of procedure does Smith Electric HVAC, Inc. use to clean my system?
We employ and train highly competent individuals to best serve the needs of our customer. Upon arriving at your home our lead technician will explain the process to be used in cleaning your system. Source removal duct cleaning is considered the best method for relieving indoor air quality problems and is the only method endorsed by the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA).
We use the ROTOBRUSH system to clean your ducts. This uses a high volume vacuum system with an assortment of rotating brushes to dislodge contaminates and pull them from your home. All grills, registers, diffusers and plenums are cleaned and sanitized. After the cleaning, an EPA approved sanitizer is fogged through the system. This sanitizer will kill mold, bacteria and fungus.
To help ensure a clean, healthy environment, we recommend that air ducts be cleaned every 5 to 7 years.
Smith Electric HVAC Inc. offers duct leakage testing and sealing.
We can do a blower door test on your house to determine air leakage on the house and on the duct. We temporarily install a "blower door" in an outside doorway of your home. With this we can pressurize or depressurize the house and determine the amount of air leaking into or out of your house. This is a great way to help locate leaks in your house in unexpected places. We can also use this to determine the amount of leakage in your duct system. Accessible duct can then be sealed and the system retested to verify the reduction on leakage.
Discount Cost
If you are an Inter-County Energy customer you may qualify for their Duct seal program. This program includes the blower door test of your home, sealing your ductwork, and verification of the sealing by retesting with the blower door. This may be done with little or no cost to you if your home qualifies for this program through Inter-County Energy.
